On Wednesday May 16th, 2018 CMHDS Members toured the Toyota Vancouver Parts Distribution Centre in Richmond, BC.
The 100,000 sq.ft. Vancouver facility is one of two distribution centres in Canada and provides parts to the 75 Toyota & Lexus dealers in Western Canada.
As part of the tour, attendees saw the Safety and Quality ‘Dojo’ (Japanese for Training Area) and learned about the Toyota safety practice called Po-ke-te-na-shi.
This was a rare opportunity to see inside one of the unrivaled world leaders in ‘just-in-time’ inventory management and logistics.
