On Thursday February 28th, 2019 CMHDS Members toured the Provincial Health Services Authority Distribution Centre.
The Lower Mainland Distribution Centre is the hub for all supplies (other than pharmaceuticals) for the Lower Mainland, delivering to 42 hospital/sites that support over 7,500 acute, extended and residential care beds.
With approximately 1,000 employees located across the province, the PHSA Supply Chain Division manages over $2 billion in total annual spending on behalf of all six BC health authorities. Supply Chain covers all elements of supply chain management including contracting and materials management (purchasing, warehousing and distribution).
Sourcing contracts for and manages close to 3,000 contracts and processes more than 925,000 purchase orders with a value over $2B of annual spend. Materials Management moves more than 250 million products.
