On June 25th the CMHDS held our 2020 Annual General Meeting via Zoom Video Conferencing.
Board of Directors
Drew Church, CMHDS President since 2016, has decided to move to the Okanagan and so will be leaving the Board. Drew has been with the society for many years and has done a tremendous job as President in the past four years. We wish Drew and his family well in their new adventure.
Before leaving, Drew nominated me (Dan Beer) to assume the role of President and with the exception of Drew, all of last season’s Directors have been re-elected. In addition, we welcome two new Directors, Darcy Scott from Loblaw and Erin Hart from Automha.
Financial Report
During the meeting we also reviewed the 2019-2020 Financial Report which showed a loss of just under $5000, mostly due to the lack of event income. At year end (March 31, 2020) we had approximately $20,000 in assets.
COVID-19
As society events center around gathering large groups of people for tours or breakfast meetings, holding any events in the 2020-2021 season seems unlikely at this time. To that end we put forth a number of Special Resolutions which were unanimously approved.
- Membership Dues will not be charged for the upcoming 2020-2021 Season.
- All current members will have their memberships extended to the end of the 2020-2021 Season.
- The Directors Term of Office has been extended from one year to two years for this one-time only in order to provide consistency on the board while we deal with the impact of COVID-19 on the society.
We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation with regards to CMHDS events and will keep you updated.
Have a good summer,
Dan Beer – CMHDS President
